If there’s one thing you cannot say about Gloucestershire it is that it was a ‘dry county’.  Search for ‘brewery’ on the archive catalogue and you’ll get over 5,500 hits – search for ‘inn’ and you get over 8,000!  With that many records relating to brewing, breweries and inns/pubs, it's amazing that anything got done in the county at all.  This presentation will look at the history and some of the records pertaining to brewing, cider and winemaking.  I believe it’s your round…..?
